Avi Kaplan is the former vocal bass of the three-time Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix. He split from the group in 2017, releasing the track "Fields and Pier" and the Sage and Stone EP under the moniker Avriel & the Sequoias. He began writing and recording under his own name in 2020, releasing the EPs I'll Get By and Lean on Me. his first solo album Floating on a Dream dropped in 2020.
